Roasted Whole Chicken with Soy Sauce with Maple-Glazed Carrots

The chicken was not a burn victim, but our soy sauce/honey glaze may have been. doctors were able to graft most of the flavor back onto the chicken, luckily.


The chunks of scallions and ginger burnt. The soy sauce in the pan burnt. Set off the smoke detector. Good to know it works.


The chicken:
  • 1 whole chicken
The flavor:
  • soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, scallion

Maple-Glazed Carrots, Bittman p. 277

  • Carrots, evoo, maple syrup.


Drumstick/thigh combo, obviously. Carrots were delicious. Nice and sweet. Good chicken recipe. Won't burn flavors off next time, though.
